Excellent weights were produced at Sunday’s open match as Lakeview Fishery opened the canal and serpent pools after maintenance and stocking.

Chris Neal caught an excellent mix of fish to produce a weight of 84lb 5oz off canal peg 27 to top a 28-strong field.

He caught mostly on pellet and maggot, with a few caught on bread. Chris was followed closely by Ken Daws with 83lb 10oz from peg seven on the canal. He took a good mix of carp, F1s and a few larger fish to make up his weight which was also caught on pellet and maggot.

Andy Searle produced the top weight on the serpent with 75lb 1oz from peg 21 for overall fourth place.
