Wednesday’s Middy £4,000 Lakeview qualifier match saw Bob Greenbury take top spot with 118lb 6oz from marina’s peg 10.
Bob caught a mix of carp to 4lb, skimmers, chub and carp on maggot and pellet down the track and margins.
* Saturday’s qualifier looked to have gone to Jason Farmery.
But after exceeding Lakeview’s 60lb net limit, Jason had his weight knocked back, giving the qualifying position to Danny Higgins. He caught an excellent weight of 122lb 5oz off serpent peg 12 with carp up to 6lb, skimmers and F1s, all caught on pellet and maggot.
Brian Orme was a close second with 116lb 3oz of carp and F1s taken on maggot.
* Sunday turned out to be a very good day for Bob Greenbury who landed £365 after winning the finale of an open competition which began in October.
A field of 16 anglers were eligible to fish the match with the top nine weights winning a cash prize.
Bob topped the lot to earn £125 from the golden peg which netted him a bonus £120 on top of the £85 Sunday Open payout.
He caught mainly carp, skimmers, and bream for 111lb 4oz off river peg 10. Newcomer Jamie Adcock also showed excellent form with a great weight of 101lb 3oz, caught off peg one on the river pool.
Regular Dave Harper came third with 88lb 10oz, off canal peg 11.
