The Grantham and Melton Association gets the local cricket season under way this weekend with the return of knockout competitions.
The league has expanded from three to four divisions this season and has also revived the Golding Shield and Cup competitions.
The Golding Shield kicks off the campaign on Sunday and will feature the GMCA debuts of newcomers British Shoe Corporation and Newtown Linford as well as Tilton and Lowesby who have returned to the league after a few years’ absence.
The league programme begins the following Sunday (April 17) as reigning champions Queniborough look to defend their title in a newly-formed Premier Division.
Promoted Egerton Park also take their place in an eight-team top flight alongside other GMCA debutants, Billesdon and Hinckley Town.
