Price’s team faced a side led by vice captain Gerry Stephens and came out on top 18.5 – 13.5 to lift the trophy.

This competition was started in 20015 by then Club Captain Brendon Boyce, and the first three editions of it had seen the vice captain’s team come out of top.

On the first day a Betterball Match Play, which ended up with the teams tied, was held at Verulam GC.

The second day was staged at the Hanbury Manor Golf Course in Hertfordshire and the format was Foursomes at which point price team edged in front 9-7.

It would turn out to be a tense third day at Huntingdon’s Brampton Park Huntingdon with some excellent golf played.

The captain’s team started to rack up the wins and by half way through left it difficult for Stephens’ and his side to make any headway on them as Price’s line-up ended up with a five point margin.

Throughout the weekend all the players were fined for any misdemeanours they carried out by Stephens acting as Mr Fines and they raised £220 for Different Strokes, the skipper’s charity.
