Melton Mowbray Golf Club: Autumn Trophy series ends in a tie

Despite the continued inclement weather there was a good turnout at Melton Mowbray Golf Club for the final round of the Autumn Trophy earlier this month.

The cold and wet did not dampen the spirit of any of the competitors in any way, and despite facing conditions that would test any golfer, the day witnessed some very good golf and scores to match.

The lead changed hands many times and the outcome was not an outright winner, but a share of the spoils as both Neil Eaves and Alex Renwick were crowned joint winners for 2019/20.

* After many weeks of cancellations because of the weather, the Monday Mingles finally took to the course, and the event was supported by a good turnout.

Despite the sun coming out it was still a very cold and breezy morning, but they were rewarded for their troubles with some very good scores, and only two points separated the top three.

The winners on the day were Bob Luke and Margaret Smale with an excellent nett 36.6, with Mike and Gill Hoggan runners-up with nett 38.2, followed by Steve Harrison and Liz Clark with nett 38.6.

The best fourball score was Haydn and Liz Snow, with Bob Luke and Margaret Smale, with a combined nett 76.
