Steve Truman’s brace helped Town into a 3-0 half-time lead, and substitute Aaron Black also grabbed two as Tony Thorpe’s side ran out 6-0 winners.

Black’s brother Aiden and Adam Bishop also got on the scoresheet as Melton reached the halfway point in the season in ninth place in UCL Division One.

On Saturday, Town are at home again as they host mid-table Irchester United (kick-off 3pm) in the first meeting between the sides.
