A wonder strike by Patterson helped clinch a 3-0 Charity Cup victory for Mowbray Rangers over Barrow Town.

Hirst and Clark were also on target in a dominant display by the Under 15 Melton side.

Mowbray were fresh from winning the Butlins tournament the previous weekend, winning six games and conceding just once.

And they rounded off their season in style in the Charity Cup final after Hirst put them in front from 20 yards with a fine effort.

Barrow’s goalkeeper saved from from Clark, Plowman and Reek before Clark made it 2-0 shortly before half-time after good work from Hibbitt and Postle.

Cragg made a last ditch tackle and custodian Close save brilliantly to keep Barrow out..

Patterson confirmed victory when he netted spectacularly with a 30-yard screamer into the top corner following a mazy run.

Rangers ended their season with a top half league finish and two trophies.
