Melton Mowbray put in another solid performance on Saturday to continue their recent good form and move up to fourth in the table.
GNG arrived at Hoby Road just a place below Melton in the Senior League standings and for the first 40 minutes of the match looked in control.
But Ash Palfreyman and Kieran Clayton were commanding in the heart of defence and keeper Richard Cragg continued his great form with a couple of excellent saves.
And Melton got a massive boost on the stroke of half-time when Clayton headed a corner back across goal and Aidan Black headed home for his 11th goal of the season.
The home side started the second half in blistering form as they dominated play and extended their lead when Shannon Myring scored a wonderful first goal for the club.
Myring picked up ball on the edge of the 18-yard box, turned two defenders before cutting inside and placing a shot into the corner of the net.
New signing Corey Taylor made an immediate impact when he whipped in a beautiful corner and Aaron Black prodded home at the back post.
Tony Thorpe then sealed the win after Mowbray had been reduced to 10 men when Aidan Black was harshly sent off for his second booking for kicking the ball away.
But Thorpe was on hand to neatly finish off a Melton counter-attack with a superb rasping shot.
Man-of-the-match, sponsored by C and A Scaffolding, was Ash Palfreyman.
Melton: Cragg, Cooper, Lapworth, Palfreyman, Clayton, Mann, Myring (Taylor), Bishop (Horobin), Aaron Black, Hazeldine (Thorpe), Aidan Black.
