Asfordby FC remained winless and bottom of the Leics Senior League Premier Division after slipping to another narrow defeat on Saturday.

After a goalless first half at Asfordby Acres, the home side went down 2-1 to Hathern despite Harry Forfar’s strike on the hour.

The newly-promoted side have one point from six matches and host Friar Lane and Epworth on Saturday (ko 3pm).

But Wymeswold continued their confident start to life in the Senior League as they hit top spot in Division One.

The unbeaten villagers followed their midweek demolition of Holwell Sports Reserves with an impressive combeback to beat top four side County Hall 5-3.

Sam Richards put the hosts ahead after just two minutes, but they found themselves 3-1 down at the break.

Wymeswold looked to be heading for their first defeat of the season as they headed into the final quarter, but Aaron Carss pulled one back with 15 minutes left.

Gus Gentleman levelled five minutes later and Richards completed a remarkable turnaround three minutes from time with his second.

And Carss made sure with a last-minute fifth.

They face another tricky test at third-placed Loughborough FC on Saturday.

* In the North Leicestershire League, Bottesford moved second in Division One after a 6-1 win over Market Bosworth, with Owen Park hitting a hat-trick.

Melton-based CK Dons made it three wins from three to go top of Division Two.

Tom Figura scored the only goal of the game to edge out Asfordby FC Development and end their 100 per cent start to the season.

Wymeswold Reserves made it two wins from two as Roman Strong’s strike saw off Woodhouse Imperial 1-0.
