IT was the first game in some time and both sides were rusty.

Ibstock broke the deadlock by reacting first to a corner, but Asfordby eventually got going and Reece Stitson’s speculative 30-yard shot squeezed in just under the crossbar to equalise.

Just before half-time, Ibstock reciprocated with a similar shot to lead at the break.

Asfordby were slow out of the blocks and found themselves further behind to two more goals. Asfordby’s heads didn’t drop and they started to play a simple game.

Todd Hazeldine got down the wing and crossed for Jack Bullimore who set up an easy tap-in for Gareth Phillips.

Asfordby pressed forward, allowing Ibstock space to add their fifth via a quick counter-attack.

Still Asfordby searched for goals and were rewarded with their third when Stitson found himself clear and slotted neatly past the keeper.

An open game which ebbed and flowed with plenty of positives for Asfordby to work on before their next game.

Man-of-the-match was D. Earney.
