ResurgentAsfordby extend winning run

Mason Lee put the hosts 1-0 up at the break before adding his second after the break to complete a 2-0 win at Asfordby Acres.

The villagers had picked up just one point from their opening seven games after winning promotion to the top flight last season.

But their County Cup win over Holwell has sparked back-to-back wins in the league and lifted Jon Allsop’s side up three places to 13th.

They travel to mid-table Blaby and Whetstone Athletic on Saturday.
