Junior football club Mowbray Rangers are offering the beautiful game to the other end of the age spectrum with their first-ever walking football session.
The session, which takes place on Saturday, October 3, will be held for over 50s and is free of charge.
It is initially planned as a one-off event, in conjunction with the national Feel Alive at 65 campaign which Melton Council will be promoting, but could become a more permanent fixture.
Rangers are running the session which will be led by volunteer coaches Kane Radford, from Evolve Football, and Karen Ebb.
Club secretary Denise Knipe said: “We want to see how it is received as it’s not been done before.
“If there was a demand for it we would try and make something more permanent and hopefully get the other football clubs involved, Long term there may even be opportunities for leagues to be arranged to give it a competitive edge.”
