A disappointing run of results continued for Mowbray Rangers Pumas as they slipped to a frustrating defeat at home to Aylestone Park.

William Sercombe and Dylan Hill pressured to carve out their first attempt on goal, but the shot was wide, and Aylestone hit back with tempo and skill on the ball.

They put an unbalanced home side on the back foot and two defensive errors gave them a 2-0 lead midway through the first half.

George Cook, Alex Corker and newcomer Jaydon Elson made good runs in midfield, but Aylestone dominated, sending shot after shot towards Pumas keeper Jamie Goodwin.

Pumas were much improved in the second half display with Noah Hack, Cameron Mee and Jack Rowe joining the game.

Josh Carlisle, Mason Flower and Hugo Cantrill defended deep with outstanding tackles, and Goodwin produced a superb athletic save, but it was all in vain when a corner produced goal number three for Aylestone.

Cantrill pulled one back with a perfect free-kick which curled over the keeper’s head.

This seemed to settle the Pumas’ nerves, but time wasn’t on their side and the match ended in frustration.

Pumas: H. Cantrill, J. Carlisle, G. Cook, A. Corker, J. Elson, M. Flower, J. Goodwin, N. Hack, D. Hill, C. Mee, J. Rowe, W. Sercombe.
