Holwell Sports moved into the top 10 of the East Midlands Counties League for the first time this season on Tuesday evening.

A comprehensive 4-1 win over second-bottom Aylestone Park took Simon Daws’ side into 10th place and just a point behind eighth-placed South Normanton.

Scott Mooney was the architect, putting the home side 2-0 up inside 20 minutes before completing his hat-trick eight minutes into the second half.

Graham Keast completed the scoring for Sports, while Jordan Small grabbed Aylestone’s late consolation.

On Saturday, Holwell face a tough test as they travel to fifth-placed Ellistown and Ibstock United who have lost just twice at home in 13 league matches (kick-off 3pm).
