Bottesford FC have one eye on coveted county honours after reaching the semi-finals of the Leicestershire and Rutland FA Saturday Trophy last weekend.
The North Leicestershire side defeated Greenhill YC Reserves 5-0 in windy conditions on Saturday to claim a place in the last four.
They secured the victory with a dominant second half display thanks to a brace from Joe Lee allied to strikes from Cameron Corkett and Rob Lakin, and an own goal.
Securing a semi-final berth marks a real achievement for Jon Allsopp’s young side as they reached the last four for the first time in more than eight seasons.
Allsop said: “We’re delighted to make it through as the county cup is the biggest trophy we compete for.
“Occasions like this don’t come round very often so we’ll give everything we’ve got to get to the final.
“It’s a great achievement for the team and a sign of how the whole club is developing as most of our players are below 25 and have come through the youth set-up.”
The semi-finals will be played on February 7.
