Asfordby Under 10s returned to Hoby Road for a league fixture against Blaby Bullets.

Both teams struggled to get a foothold in the game played in stormy conditions. Asfordby tried to force the game on Blaby, but could not get their usual passing game together.

Blaby had the first serious shot on goal after a mix-up in the Asfordby defence, but goalkeeper Rhys made an outstanding save to deny the visitors.

This kick-started Asfordby as the midfield started to find their passing range and a poor backpass allowed Max to take full advantage and drive home the opening goal.

Blaby came back at Asfordby looking for an equaliser, but Tobi, Archie and Theo held strong at the back.

The hosts then caught Blaby on the break with a slick passing move between Conner and Joe who threaded the ball through to Thomas to hammer home the second.

It was all Asfordby now with the midfield dominating the game, and it wasn’t long before Max made it 3-0 after neat work from Conner.

Asfordby went into the interval on a high, but the second half was a different story as Blaby forced their way back into the game.

A long throw-in caught the home side off guard and the Blaby centre-forward was on hand to stab home.

Asfordby were on the back foot and their year-long unbeaten run in the league looked in danger as Blaby piled forward.

A defensive mix-up allowed the away team to score a deserved second, and Blaby levelled with just a few minutes to go when the home defence failed to clear a corner which was poked home.
