Asfordby Amateurs Girls take on Canadian touring side
With the new season looming, Asfordby Girls Under 14s travelled to Aylestone Park for their second international friendly against Canadian touring side Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
After watching the Leicester v Liverpool match, the girls played their first 11-a-side game. Despite being out of their normal formation and comfort zone, the girls started well and were only one goal behind at half-time.
Asfordby then scored a fantastic goal from a free-kick in their own area, with the goalkeeper dropping it over defence and the Asfordby forward turning their defence to lob the keeper for a goal to remember.
The game ended in defeat, but they fought hard in a proud display and now look forward to representing Asfordby in the league.
