Syston Town and Thorpe Arnold First XIs suffered contrasting opening day defeats in the County League on Saturday.
Town travelled to last season’s Premier Division runners-up Lutterworth and held the hosts to 238-6 from their 50 overs.
But despite an impressive debut knock of 98 from Amer Nazir, Syston were bowled out for 175 in reply, Cadar doing the bulk of the damage with 5 for 33.
Thorpe sank to a heavy home defeat in their first match since relegation from the Premier last season.
Hosting Leicester Banks, Alex Renwick (31) and Myles Hickman (28) gave the hosts a solid start, but that was as good as it got as Thorpe were bundled out for 151.
Banks reached their target with 15 overs to spare thanks to match-winning knocks from Vishal (78 not out) and Sanjani (57 not out).
This weekend Syston are away once more at Earl Shilton (12.30pm), while Thorpe travel to Houghton and Thurnby (1pm).
