Egerton Park under 13s travelled to Quorn on a cold, overcast Sunday morning and were sent into bat.
Barber’s unbeaten 25, some deft nudging and guiding by Woods, and a couple of meaty heaves from Garnett saw the visitors rack up a total of 106-8 which looked competitive.
Two quick wickets from Barber at the beginning of Quorn’s innings combined with tight fielding meant they were behind the run rate from the first over.
But some good middle order batting put Quorn back in the hunt right up to the final few overs.
The 19th over was excellently bowled by debutant Burdett, leaving Quorn needing 18 off the final six deliveries.
Up stepped Barber to bowl the last over and he crowned an outstanding individual performance with two wickets, both clean bowled. He also induced a run out off the very last ball while only conceding two runs from the over.
Park will chase a third straight win at home to Cropston on Sunday.
