Zaheer will return to Egerton Park

The Australian impressed as he helped the side finish second in the Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket League Division Three in 2015.

The batsman will land in England on Wednesday, April 6 and could be in action two days later as Egerton host a touring side from Didsbury in a Friday evening fixture, followed by a 40 over match against the same opponents the following day.

The Saturday will also act as the club’s official signing on day.

A friendly against Bottesford has also been arranged for April 16, before the club begin life in the fresh surroundings of Division Two the following weekend, away at Countesthorpe.

Egerton remain hopeful of bringing in a couple of new players who will be in contention for first team places.

The club’s indoor pre-season training began on Tuesday at Longfield Academy.

The under 15 and under 13s train from 5.30pm-7pm, with the under 17s and seniors meeting from 6pm-7.30pm.
