They set up a title decider with Old Dalby by first overcoming Mars Petcare.

Wymeswold made 120-4 in their innings despite figures of 3 for 20 from Mars bowler Chris Jeary.

Mars threatned to chase down the total, but fell 18 runs short in their reply, closing on 102-5.

The crucial title showdown was a suitably close and competitive match with Wymeswold again batting first and making 117-4 from their allocation. In reply, Dalby fell just nine runs short as they posted 108-6.

* In last week’s other match, Upper Broughton saw off Thorpe Arnold.

Broughton bowler James Dickens took 2 for 10 to help restrict Thorpe to 98-8 in their innings.

Matt Clough then steered them to a four-wicket victory with an unbeaten knock of 27 in the reply.
