Tilton win thriller as Barkby suffer rare defeat

BARKBY suffered their first Burrough League defeat in three seasons in an exciting top-of-the-table clash.

The hosts put Tilton in to bat and Miles was unluckily run out off the second ball. Farnsworth (34) and Snaith (69) added 114 for the second wicket to propel Tilton’s total to 129-4 off 16 overs.

Barkby struggled to keep up with the required run rate with Percy the first wicket to fall with the score on 48 followed by Kirk (34).

Hendry and Louis Botting tried hard to up the rate, but when Botting was out off the first ball of the last over, Barkby still needed 17 to win.

Skinner and Hendry made a valiant effort and with 12 needed off the last two balls, Hendry hit a six and two as Barkby finished just four runs short.
