South Notts League: Storms fail to spoil Great Dalby promotion party

Great Dalby went into their final game of the season against Collingham knowing that they had already been promoted to Division K.

Collingham decided to bat first and a fine opening spell by Harry Wells and Nathan Sunderland had both opening batsmen playing and missing, but no wickets materialised.

Wells had a catch dropped by keeper Picker off the very first ball and that seemed to set the scene for the innings with other catches spilled.

The openers then put on a century partnership before Steve Dalton had Sugden well caught on the boundary by Sunderland.

With one over to go before the tea break the heavens opened and within 30 minutes the square was under water and no further play was possible.
