A promising young cricketer is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Stuart Broad after making his Leicestershire debut.
Will Creed plays for Egerton Park Under 13s and is aiming to emulates the achievement of his hero and the club’s most famous old boy.
The Year 5 pupil at St Francis School was selected to play for Leicestershire Under 10s and made his debut against Lancashire last week.
He scored 10 runs from 10 overs, took one wicket in his seven overs, and also took a catch.
Leicestershire lost the match, but Will is hungry for more and will represent county in further fixtures this season.
“I really enjoyed representing my home county,” he said.
“My first experience for Leicestershire was outstanding and I cannot wait to play again.”
St Francis PE co-ordinator Matthew Snow added: “This is a great achievement for Will who has shown excellence in many different sports and has natural ability.
“The school is extremely impressed and proud that a pupil has been chosen to perform at this high standard.”
