Barkby United kept their Division One promotion hopes alive with a four-wicket victory in Loughborough on Saturday.
Town Second XI batted first and didn’t lose a wicket until the 12th over when James Kirk had Chopra caught behind by Troop for 17.
With no addition to the score, Waplington then had Lowe caught by Steve Flowers for 22.
Spinners Townsend and Drake came into the attack and Loughborough’s batsmen struggled against them, each taking three wickets.
Waplington returned and finished the Loughborough innings off with two wickets as the home side were dismissed for 172 in the 45th over.
Ian Kirk and Matt Boyce got the Barkby reply off to a good start as they put on 70 before Kirk was caught behind for 32.
Tom Flowers followed 19 runs later for two, and Jack Berrisford (21) and Boyce took the score on to 118 before Boyce was caught behind for 64.
Trusz had Steve Flowers caught for a quick 28, and with the score on 167, Trusz picked up his second wicket of the over when Phillips was caught without scoring.
But Townsend (3 not out) and Waplington (3 not out) saw the visitors to their target in the 35th over.
The victory moved Barkby up to fifth and within 14 points of third-placed Enderby with two games of the season to go.
