Having won the toss Barkby United decided to bat on a flat track, but Hollis was bowled by Hill for two with the score on 30.
Flowers and Townsend then put on 50 for the second wicket before Flowers was bowled by Shaw for 53, a knock which included 10 fours and a six.
With the Barkby batsman scoring at a good rate, a score in the region of 250 looked a possibility.
Kirk made 57 and Drake 23, but when Kibworth’s opening bowler Jones returned to the attack, Barkby’s innings collapsed and they were all out for 217 in the 45th over.
Kibworth started their innings slowly and after scoring only 36 from the first 17 overs, for the loss of one wicket, they were well behind the required scoring rate.
But D. Patel (46) and Spence (67 not out) got them back into the game. Hyatt (22) and Jones (21) both attacked the bowling, and with Spence still playing aggressively, Kibworth reached their target in the 44th over.
Waplington (4 for 62) and Ian Kirk (1 for 28 from 12 overs) were the pick of the Barkby bowlers.
