Mark Cowling, Junior Gaskin and Stan Logan were all on target for the home team, but the sides were locked 3-3 at full-time before Asfordby came through the shoot-out 5-3.

Wymeswold’s progress was more straightforward as Sam Allen’s brace and a Dean Copson strike saw them overcome Castle Donington 3-1.

North Leicestershire League sides Clawson Kings, Asfordby Development, Bottesford Reserves and Wymeswold Reserves will all feature in the last 16 of the Saturday Vase.

Luke Kightley’s hat-trick helped Clawson Kings thrash Loughborough FC A 6-2 at the All England Ground, in Melton, with Chris Buck, Jamie Kightley, and Darren Lightbown also on target.
