Barkby’s bowlers secured their side an unlikely victory and a welcome 30-point haul on Saturday.
Skipper Steve Flowers again won the toss and decided to bat, but Barwell’s opening bowlers got quite a bit of movement off a lively pitch.
Opener Drake was given out LBW with the score on five and Flowers (12) followed with the score on 27.
Townsend and Kirk both looked set to play a major innings, but Townsend was given out caught behind for 16 with the score on 50.
And four runs later Kirk was bowled for 16 as Barkby began to lose wickets at regular intervals.
Only young Ben Hollis (14) and Lloyd Phillips, with an aggressive 17 from 16 balls, reached double figures as the visitors were bowled out for just 119 in the 39th over.
For Barwell, overseas player Aggarwall claimed excellent figures of 5 for 23.
With 50 overs to achieve victory, the hosts started their innings in attacking mode and after eight overs had reached 58 for the loss of both openers to Ian Kirk, who bowled with great pace.
Overseas player Aggarwall came to the wicket and continued to attack, but after hitting Townsend for six, he ventured too far down the wicket and was stumped by Waplington.
Barwell were suddenly struggling to come to terms with the pace of Kirk and the spin of Townsend as both bowlers took four wickets apiece.
They were assisted by some sharp fielding which resulted in two run-outs as the home side were dismissed for 99.
