The Spaniard is five years older than the Melton Thai boxer and has 15 adult bouts to this name, including a recent European title contest.

Thai’s father and trainer Mark Barlow said: “Sometimes you have to gamble with fights. We know Thai is a good junior fighter so let’s see what he can do in the senior ranks against men who are much stronger.”

Also matched on the Assassins’ bill are brother and sister Mustafa and Aliza Agwan who go up against Thai boxers from the Semtex Gym in Essex.

It will be Mustafa’s first bout since a car accident and he is eager to get back into the ring.

Assassins debutant Shaydon Burt, who likes to compete on the front foot, gets the evening under way against London opponent Fred Phillips.

The show includes 15 bouts featuring 14 Assassins and five international contests. Doors open 5.30pm and the action stars at 6pm.

Tickets are available from any Assassin member, Nicko’s Fish Bar or Facebook Iman Barlow.
