So, it is official, a bypass will be built by 2036!
I have cut the article out and saved it for my great grandchildren to read in years to come. This has been talked about for the past 50 years, so heh, hoh, what’s another 20 years.
I doubt I will be here to see it if it happens. I will be 100-years-old that year, but if I am still here, and it is opened that year, could I please cut the ribbon?
Like many others I have my doubts it will even be started by then let alone finished. At the rate we are building houses on every available square inch, I doubt there will be any room left to build one anyway.
Or perhaps the powers that be are hoping technology will have found a new way of travel by then, and we won’t need one. But we can dream the same way we have done for the past 50 odd years. Miracles do happen, sometimes.
