Bell ringers at St Mary Magdalene church in Waltham rang in the New Year in the usual tradition.

On New Year’s Eve the muffled bells rang from 11.20pm until 11.55pm when the muffles were removed to give the full sound of the bells at midnight to welcome in 2015.

During 2014 the team of bell ringers took part in five weddings and on September 3, they remembered 75 years since the outbreak of World War Two.

The bells are rung regularly before Sunday church services and also on a Thursday evening which is practice night.
