Volunteer Frank aims to raise awareness of dog mess issues on Melton walkabouts
A volunteer dog patrol officer often seen clearing the streets of Melton of dog mess is holding walkabouts with members of the public.
As reported by the Melton Times last month, Melton man Frank Duckworth (58) has taken it upon himself to pick up the piles of mess he finds on his patrols, as well as raising awareness of the problem by marking out dog fouling areas using a special temporary spray paint and stencil.
He is fully supported as a volunteer by Melton Council.
Frank is now holding street walks to show residents the extent of the problem of inconsiderate dog walkers not clearing up the mess left behind by their dogs, and discuss possible solutions.
The first walk will take place on Sunday between 10am and 11am, in the Queensway area. The second is in West Avenue, on Sunday, April 24, 10am-11am.
