Woman in ‘critical condition’ in hospital after collision involving pedestrian and car in Asfordby

A 46-year-old woman remains in a critical condition in hospital after she was involved in a collision with a car in Asfordby on Sunday (Dec 28).

The collision, which involved a pedestrian and a black Vauxhall Corsa, happened at about 3.10am on the A6006 Melton Road, outside Asfordby Hill Primary School.

The pedestrian, who hasn’t been named by police, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Nottingham’s Queens Medical Centre. At the time of going to press her condition was described a ‘critical’.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or who saw the Corsa beforehand as it travelled from Melton, to get in touch.

l Officers investigating the collision have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the incident. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
