Three taken to hospital after collision near Melton

Three people were taken to hospital this morning (Tuesday) after a collision on the A606 near Melton.

The road was closed for nearly three hours as firefighters from the Melton station were joined by paramedics and police officers at the scene.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “At 7.20am, officers were called to a two-car collision near the cross-roads on the A606 between Nether Broughton and Ab Kettleby.

“The road was closed while officers attended the scene.

“East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended and three people were taken to Queen’s Medical Centre with non-life threatening or life-changing injuries.”

Traffic was diverted while investigations took place and the road was reopened around 10.15am, police say.
