The Fairtrading Post in Melton celebrated its tenth anniversary of business by holding a small party to say thank you to its volunteers and customers on Saturday.
Mayor of Melton John Wyatt was on hand to cut a celebration cake and welcome people to the shop in Burton Street.
The store opened in 2005 and has made over £40,000 profit for charities and help overseas.
There are now 45 plus volunteers who help run the shop - double the amount when it first opened.
One of the directors of the business Lynn Marriott said: “There’s no way we could have achieved all this without our wonderful army of past and present volunteers, many of whom help at events and generally make running a business an absolute pleasure.”
“I’d also like to say a big thank you to Melton Mayor John Wyatt for attending on the day and Sugar Shamrocks which provided the cake.”
Throughout the day all purchases over £1 got a 10 per cent discount.
