For teenagers its all about having fun, and that’s just what many did at the seventh Melton Teenage Market on Saturday.

Ten traders sold their exclusive individual products whilst a lively musical stage allowed singers and performers to floursih in front of crowds in the Market Place.

BID manager Shelagh Core said: “It was a great day and nice to see some new faces as well as more familiar ones.

“I’m really pleased that people supported the event and bought from our young people.”

Teenage Market is a platform for some of the brightest young people (aged 13-21) to showcase their creative talents and entrepreneurial spirit for free.

The traders at the Melton event included Hennabymaria, British Bird Collages, Madeline Elizabeth, MUA, Jamboree 2019 Scouts, Brooksby Melton College and “Health for Teens,” Faithfully Made, Sew Eve, Beccas Design and Signature Print Design.

The musical line up this year featured Eva Rose, May Perks, Sam Collick, the cast of Sweeney Todd presented by The Melton Musical Theatre Company, MGT Ukuele Group, Zumba Fitness, Mel Daniels and the cast of West Side Story presented by SKY Theatre.

Next year there are plans to revamp Melton’s Teenage Market.

Shelagh added: “We are really proud of it and will probably do another one before Christmas, but after that, rather than hosting it in April next year, we will just have a market in August and December.

“At these times of the year hopefully more teenagers will get involved and shoppers can spend more money.”
