The Rutland and Melton branch of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children raised £357.56 from its annual street collection held in Melton town centre last month.
The group is a local branch of a national organisation aiming to provide a voice for the unborn child and an awareness of humanity.
Collection promoter Frances Levett said: “This is a great result, 50% up on last year. We are especially pleased as this year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of our branch in Melton.
“Thank you to all those who supported us by collecting and to all who so generously donated. We hope you will all be there at our 25th celebration on November 14.
“There will be stalls, free refreshments and activities for children at the Christian Centre in Nottingham Street.
“In the evening there will also be a free showing of the award-winning film, ‘The Drop Box.’ The screening will include a complimentary glass of wine.”
