More than a dozen people, including some living with dementia came together for the Melton Memory Walk to raise awareness for the condition and local support services.
The walkers met up at the Visitor Centre at Melton Country Park and completed a circuit of a specially thought out route.
The event was part of the Alzheimer Society’s campaign to raise awareness of dementia and to encourage people to be more open about the disease.
Alzheimer’s Society which provides help to people living with all forms of dementia set up a monthly Memory Cafe and a Peer Support and Activity Group in the town earlier this year.
Melton Memory Cafe meets on the first Friday of every month at the cafe in Melton Carnegie Museum, Thorpe End, from 10.30am until noon.
The Peer Support and Activity Group also meets at the cafe in Melton Carnegie Museum on the third Wednesday of every month from 2.30pm until 4pm.
