Revised bin collection dates for Melton borough for Christmas and New Year periods

Residents in the Melton borough are advised that bins will be collected a day later than normal for the festive period through to the second week in January.

There will be no collections by Melton Council waste teams on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day and instead they will take place on Saturday (December 23), December 27 and January 2, respectively.

The normal collections on December 27, 28 and 29 and January 2, 3, 4 and 5 will now be on the following days,

A spokesperson for the borough council said: “Extra recycling will be collected over the Christmas period.

“We would ask residents to please leave it in a plastic carier bag or cardboard box at the side of their brown bin on their collection day.

“There will be no green waste collections from December 22 until January 8.”

Normal collection days will resume from Monday January 8.

Melton BID advise businesses and organisation that there will be no BID recycling collections on Wednesday January 27.

The next scheduled collection will be the following day with collections returning to normal days from Wednesday January 3.
