Three local charities visited Sainsbury’s in Melton during Carers Week (June 8-14) to help raise awareness of Carers UK.
Carers UK, Marie Curie and Mar Lodge spoke to customers and colleagues about the work they do and shared details of support that is available for carers.
This year marked the 50th anniversary of Carers UK which Sainbury’s have supported for five years.
Store manager John Davies said: “Carers Week is a great opportunity to shine a light on what it means to be a carer and the support available in the community.
“We were pleased to welcome the charities into our Melton store to find out more about what they do and I hope that our customers and colleagues find it both interesting and useful.”
Carers Week is an annual event which aims to help raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communites throughout the UK.
