Rainbows to open first shop

A CHILDREN’S charity will open the doors of its first shop in Melton on Tuesday.

Melton Mayor John Illingworth will officially open the Rainbows Hospice shop in Sherrard Street at about 10.30am.

Rainbows is a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support in the East Midlands.

The shop will function primarily as a retail outlet selling clothes, bric-a-brac, dvds, cds and books, as well as Rainbows own ethically traded crockery.

It will also function as an information point on the services the hospice provides.

Karen Bilsby, head of retail for Rainbows, said: “We want the shop to reflect the hospice as a welcoming, fun and vibrant place for families and children.”

A second Rainbows shop will open in Blaby in August and Matlock, Derbyshire in September.
