The sensory garden at Melton Country Park has been transformed by Melton’s Prince’s Trust Team ‘Nine’.
A team of ten young people have mucked in together to put down a new limestone path to improve wheelchair access and have helped restore the sensory garden.
Laura Hallam, Prince’s Trust team leader for Melton, said: “Melton Team 9 worked really hard as a team to complete the path at Melton Country Park’s Sensory Garden, the finished result is something they all feel very proud of. As they approach the end of their time on the Prince’s Trust Team Programme they are all focussing on the future, it is great to see how much confidence they have gained over the weeks and that the skills they have developed will be of benefit to them now and in the future.”
The project is estimated to have cost around £500 and took two weeks to complete.
The Prince’s Trust programme is aimed at students, aged 16-25, needing a confidence boost and the young unemployed.
