Drivers warned of closure of major Melton town centre road for six days
Motorists are being warned that a busy Melton town centre route is to be closed to traffic for up to six days later this month.
Leicestershire County Council’s highways department has agreed to the temporary closure and to parking restrictions for the length of the road from September 26.
The authority, which has apologised in advance for any inconvenience caused for road users and residents, said the road closure would allow builders’, Just Construction, to safely undertake works related to the new housing development around the old hospital site on Ankle Hill.
The alternative diversion route for drivers will be Warwick Road, Dalby Road, Wilton Road, Norman Way, Sherrard Street, and vice versa.
