Developer's bid to build up to 55 homes on former MOD land at Old Dalby

Family Housing Ltd is seeking outline planning permission to build the properties on two-and-a-half hectares of land to the west of Princes Road.

A design and access statement supporting its application to Melton Council says: “The design, scale, layout and access of the development are not for determination as part of this application. Only the principle of residential use is to be considered.

“While a matter for subsequent approval through a reserved matters application, the site would be landscaped to enhance the design of the development.”

A transport statement prepared on behalf of the developer claims the proposed development would have a ‘negligible impact on the operation of the local highway network’, adding that the site would be accessed through the consented residential development on the adjacent field to the south.
