Developer wants to build up to 50 new homes to the west of Harby

A developer has submitted plans to build up to 50 new homes to the west of Harby.

Croft Developments Ltd wants to develop 3.57 hectares of land off Colston Lane, with the proposed site lying between Colston Lane and the Grantham Canal.

The proposed site does not include the disused Millway Foods complex which was refused planning permission for a housing development earlier this year after plans were submitted by another developer.

A design and access statement accompanying Croft Development’s outline planning application says its vision is to ‘provide a new high quality development that integrates with the existing settlement of Harby and complements the existing landscape and heritage setting.’

A new vehicular access is proposed along Colston Lane. The development would include a range of two storey properties - from two-bed semi-detached to four-bed detached homes.

Melton Council will decide the plans in due course.
