Everyone Active, which operates the venue for Melton Borough Council, announced the closure last week as a precautionary measure while investigation work took place.

Work started over the weekend and the company say the pool will be closed at the Dalby Road site ‘until further notice’.

Joe Warren, Everyone Active’s contract manager, told the Melton Times: “Essential works are being carried out to the pool hall ceiling and we have experts reviewing the issue in order to rectify it as soon as possible.

“We hope to provide customers with a progress update later this week but in the meantime, we would like to thank them for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

“The small pool is open and swimming lessons for the small pool are going ahead as usual. All other facilities at Waterfield remain open.”
