Police's summer drink drive blitz sees 46 people arrested including two in Melton district
Following a weekend which saw nine more arrests for failing roadside breath tests, the overall total is 11 more than during June 2015.
Forty two of those arrested across the force area during this summer’s 35-day blitz were male, and of those 12 were aged between 17 to 24.

Hide AdThis year’s enforcement campaign ran for an extra week, from June 6 to July 10 to coincide with the European Football Championships.
Chief inspector Phil Vickers, who heads up the regional campaign across the East Midlands police forces, said: “Too many people are still risking both their lives, and those of innocent people, by getting behind the wheel while unfit to drive. It is just not worth the risk, if you choose to drink and drive our round the clock patrols will catch you whether you are in the city, our towns or villages.”
