Richard Angrave completed the Sunrise City 5K in Leicester on May 11, and the Leicester 10K as recently as September 9 for the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland charity that aims to improve the lives of people with sight loss.

For his Sunrise City 5K, Richard started from Victoria Park, at 5.30am, guiding visually impaired runner Leigh Pick.

Richard’s Leicester 10K exceeded his expectations. He managed to clock a time of 62 minutes 22 seconds.

Richard has also guided Leigh Pick in three half marathons this year (Belvoir, Derby Ramathon and Claire Lomas’s Road 2 Recovery).

To support Richard’s fundraising it is not too late to book a team at a quiz night on Saturday, at Holwell Stute, Asfordby Hill, from 7.30pm.

Teams of four are invited to enter at a cost of £7.50 per person which includes a light supper, a bar is available , and there will be a raffle with great prizes thanks to the generosity of Melton businesses.

If you are unable to attend the quiz you can support Richard’s fundraising by visiting his JustGiving at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/richard-angrave2
