The charity spoke to children about their ‘Speak out. Stay safe’ nationwide programme and with the help of friendly mascot Buddy, they presented an engaging assembly.

Assistant head teacher Gail Edwards Cole said: “Following this visit, children had the opportunity to take part in a voluntary fundraising event by participating in ‘Buddy’s Workout’.

“For some of the children this involved a school danceathon and others completed a challenging circuit course. All of the children enjoyed the experience and at the same time raised, £2,031, a phenomenal sum of money for the NSPCC’s vital work - helping keep even more children safe.

“Children are now proudly wearing their Buddy Badges around school. We’re very grateful to the children and families who have supported this campaign with us – what an achievement!”
