Motorists warned about planned 10-day closure of A607

Motorists are being warned that a key road serving Melton will be closed overnight for 10 days starting from later this month.

Leicestershire County Council’s highways department has agreed to a rolling closure of the A607 stretching from Leicester Road, Melton, through Kirby Bellars.

The road will be closed between 8pm and 6am, beginning on the evening of January 28 and running through to February 6.

A County Hall spokesperson said: “The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety, so Leicestershire County Council can undertake carriageway patching works.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused during these works.”

The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: A607 Leicester Road Melton/Kirby Bellars, Melton Road Brooksby, East Goscote, Northern Bypass Queniborough, A46 Fosseway, Paddys Lane Broughton and Old Dalby, A6006 Loughborough Road at Grimston, Asfordby Bypass, Melton

Road at Asfordby, Asfordby Road in Melton Mowbray and the A607 Wilton Road at Melton, and vice versa.
